Soft, natural light, eye-level, and clear eyes - everything else is secondary Photo Tips for Your Dog Portrait
To help us capture your dog's personality at its best:
Select a photo which uses soft, natural light (near a window or outside in the shade)
Your photo should avoid harsh sunlight or deep shadows
Choose a photo from your dog's eye level where possible
Make sure you select a photo where your dog's eyes are clearly visible
For Black or Very Dark Dogs:
Side lighting works beautifully - it helps show the shine and shape of the coat
Phone photos are fine. One main photo is perfect, with a couple of extras helpful if available
The guidance above is designed to make choosing a suitable photo as easy as possible
Tip - use a treat at camera level to encourage your pooch to leek at the camera!
